Family focused accommodation

Whispering Seas is a beach front property which provides spacious family accommodation that is particularly suitable for family reunions, in that the house is configured to accommodate young kids in every respect.

The property is completely fenced with lockable, double front gates and high secure fencing around the entire property. Rest assured your kids will be safe!

Family reunions make up the majority of bookings to date, a high proportion of which have young children and infants.

Whispering Seas provides five boogie boards of various sizes for the kids to use.

A major advantage of the location of the house is that it is opposite the Inverloch surf Club, where life savers patrol the beach during the summer months until the Easter Long weekend. Thus simply walk 100m across the road with your beach gear to the family friendly patrolled beach, to enjoy a swim in usually calm shallow beach conditions, with smallish waves suitable for young children enjoy with their bogey boards, though they must always be supervised and monitored by parent and well equipped life guards.

Thus no parking hassles or walking long distances back to the vehicle.

The second advantage of Whispering Seas is that it comfortably accommodates up to 15 guests, with provision for two more if the trundles are used. It is licenced by the Bass Coast Council for 15 guests. Thus three generations of family can be easily and comfortably accommodated. With a QS bedroom down stairs, the grandparents are able to enjoy the facilities without having to negotiate the stairs.

The configuration of the two storey house has the kids double bunks downstairs with a “supervising” adult bedroom with QS bed downstairs as well.

The kid’s bedroom has a TV, an adjoining toilet, laundry and shower.

The downstairs lounge is a devoted kid’s zone, with an abundance of toys and board games for all age groups. A TV, DVD and CD player are also available. The adjoining covered patio at the rear of the house is a suitable wet weather play area for trikes, with table and chairs, slide and safety floor matting.

When the front gates are closed, the yard is fully secured, with minimal likelihood of kids escaping and running onto the road or going to the beach unsupervised.

There are childproof gates for the internal stairs and external rear stairs, but no one has used these yet, but was requested by a guest.

A sliding door at the top of the stairs stops kids falling down the stairs.

Best not to use the upstairs slow combustion fire place in case a child touches the hot surface.

If wet weather prevails, there is a large double garage which has been converted into a games room, with darts, ping pong, pool and foosball tables.

There is an abundance of outside covered deck space to ride trikes etc, so wet weather isn’t a problem as there is plenty to keep the kids amused.

A favourite activity for the kids has been to ride the trikes (5) and bikes (3) around the house, making use of the gentle slope to take them down the pathway at speed! Some even bump their way down the small stairs on the other side of the house.

A number of fishing rods are also provided for the kids to use. The jetty is a favourite location. Even I caught a good size whiting there.

At times the “big boys” make use of the bar and beer frigs in the games room.

Two bicycles for adults are also available, have a go, but don’t break your wrist, which is easily done if you come off.  The surgery is immensely painful! Adults don’t mend as fast as kids. Use at your own risk!

Parental Retreat

There are four bedrooms upstairs, 2KS, 1QS, 1 TB for 8 guests.

The family bathroom and master bedroom en-suite are upstairs.

A study nook also exists if some desktop work is required.

Upstairs, the red leather lounges accommodates upto 5 adults comfortably, though 8 possible.

Light the fire, turn on Chrome TV, activate your Netflix, open a red wine and enjoy the evening listening to the rain falling on the tin roof, the howling wind or the crashing surf from the beach front, as it’s only ~100m away.

The upstairs front and rear balconies have comfortable lounges and tables. The front upper balcony is good for a sundowner and the top rear balcony is sunny nook for light meals and drinks enjoy the winter sun.
